Slammed M3 From the Bay

This E36 M3 is owned by Stanceworks member Sean Williams of San Jose, California. Despite the ridiculously low stance, Sean uses the M3 as his daily driver. To get the slammed look (”pretty much the lowest E36 on the planet” Mike Burroughs writes), Sean uses a set of H&R Coilovers modified for maximum lowness. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Cool Caravans and RVs

I am the first to admit that I am not into Caravans or RVs. It’s just not my thing. If I find myself travelling long distances I always use hotels. However there are some cool vans out there. Check out this collection from the Herald Sun.

Theft of ‘69 Mustang Thwarted, but at What Price?

We hate to see things like this happen. Mike Gomez, of Glendale, Arizona, recently wrote to us looking for help locating a straight body for his Mustang. Why? We’ll let him tell the story:

Thirty some years ago I came to own my first 69 Mustang, little did I know how unique a car I had. It was a 428 Mach 1 Cobra Jet 4 speed with a 9″ positraction rear end, power steering, power brakes and tilt steering wheel. I bought the car from my cousin when he got too many tickets and his Dad made him sell it. I had the car for about three years, then got married and sold it to buy my first house. I’ve owned many other cars that today are worth a fortune, who knew that they would go up in value so much.

Well, years passed and I always regretted selling the Mustang so I made a decision with my Wife, Sheri, to get a project car. She found a 69 Mustang on the Internet back in Illinois and we bought the car looking only at the pictures on the Internet. That is the last time I’ll do that!

Inside a Lambo Super Trofeo on the Track

In-car clips are great and everything, but I think it makes all the difference when you can see the driver working, as well as the speedo and the car’s location on the track. I especially like it when there’s a camera down in the driver’s foot well, so you can see their feet in action, but since this Lambo is an e-gear, that’s really unnecessary here. Even thought the mount seems a little loose—there’s some pretty serious vibrations at high speed—this is still a great clip. I wasn’t able to determine which track these guys are at, but since the since the video was tagged with the address of a German Lambo dealer, I’m assuming it’s somewhere in Germany. Maybe Sachsenring?

Good Night, Las Vegas! There Will Be No Encore

Formula Drift Las Vegas is in the books. And here are a few random observations:

Las Vegas drift fans never seem to wait for the final results. Maybe because the event doesn’t end until midnight.

The fans may not care who won but there were more of them this year than last.

I’ve been a reporting on drifting in one form or another steadily since 2001 beginning in Japan and I still don’t understand the judging parameters.

It seems a V8 is the key ingredient to increasing entry speeds and tire smoke (duh!).

Chris Forsberg beat out Tyler McQuarrie for Third place and Tanner Foust beat Ryuji Miki in the finals.

We’ll have a complete video on StreetFire.net next week.
