Bill and Connor in the Desert

A road trip doesn’t just mean seeing the sights, it means meeting new people and getting the local flavors from, well, the locals. Bill Miles and his son Connor, who we last saw in the Pacific Northwest, have since meandered down through California, around the San Francisco Bay and out into Nevada, and from reading their travelog, it sounds like they’ve talked to every living soul along the way, which makes for some great reading. Driving Machine

If you’re an old-motorcycle nut, you might know who Ernst Neumann-Neander (AKA N2) is. His beyond-innovative Neander bikes, with their box-section alloy frames and pivoting forks, were both gorgeous and fast.

N2 also experimented with three- and four-wheelers. Modern Mechanix readers may recall his carving three wheeler, featured last fall. After Neander bikes went out of business, he got interested in small, lightweight cars. Continue reading at Hemmings
